whats a girl gotta do to be happy?

What do you have to do to feel better about yourself?

This is a question I find I ask myself too often. From a practical standpoint, my acheivements lie in between “googoo gaga baby shit” to “manic episode manifested into a physical object”. This creates a weird dichotomy of interests, where my projects exist in a bubble, made entirely when I lacked the ability to control myself in one way or another. While my progress on controlling these emotions has improved to the point I can be consistently social with strangers and friends alike, it has brought my so-called project brain to a screeching halt. I seem to have a two-way switch in my mind, where my energy and brainpower gets put towards interacting with people and socializing, or creating projects that feel unique and special. I also have a habit of forgetting that I created projects. As energy is not a unlimited resource, as soon as I run out of energy I crumble. I make mistakes, I stop functioning in crowds, I lose all interest in my projects, and all I want to do is play games or sleep. This can happen at noon, or at midnight, there’s no telling how the day will go. This can create a perfect storm where I both run out of energy to give towards upholding my own well being, and fall into the trap of overthinking everyhting that happens around me. This was uncommon before Estrogen, and only happened later in life. While Estrogen didn’t cause this problem, hormones aren’t exactly known to be very emotionally detatched. Consulting my own parents about this problem hasn’t helped, as they fall into two different mindsets; one focused around excuses, where they blame this behavior on external factors, like a family member being sick or the death of a animal, or hoping that throwing “self-help” books at me will help to solve the problem, even when I already don’t have the energy to read them.
